Tata, Huit Huit, Sonko, Waterman and Georges are successful with their art – in Africa as well as in Europe, where their performances in "Africa! Africa!" contribute to the great success of Andre Heller's circus show. Their magical energy and joie de vivre fascinate the audience. Their stories show an unusual side of African life.

Accompanied by the captivating African "Sound of Music", the documentary follows the five protagonists throughout the show and into their home countries. "Back to Africa" was shot in Senegal, Ghana, Congo, Guinea and Europe and tells stories of daily life and enjoyment of life, of dance and music, of hope, diversity and inspiration.
