ROMY 2013 for Best TV-Documentary

In "Miracle of Healing" the experienced science journalist Kurt Langbein recalls his own medical history. Deeply personally motivated, he looks for the factors that mobilize the human immune system and can even cure cancer.

He visits people who were considered as good as dead after being diagnosed with terminal cancer but who are now perfectly healthy. 4 years ago, Bettina Reiter, a doctor and psycho therapist herself, was given merely a year to live – now after immune therapy and fever therapy, she is completely healthy. Helmuth Bayreuther was told he had months to live. After a holistic treatment he has now been free of cancer for twelve years.

Langbein also speaks to the scientists, who proved how heavily the psyche can influence the immune system and therefore the chance for recovers – and that with specialized treatments we can learn to improve our proprioceptive defenses. In Turin, doctors proved that symptoms of Parkinson's can be alleviated with only metal convictions. Doctors in Chicago explored the psychologicalal causes of breast cancer and in England scientists looked into the effectiveness of spiritual healers.

The film is an expedition through the modern research field of psycho-neuro-immunology and it is a story with a happy end: director Langbein himself can now – after two years – consider himself healthy.

KURIER newspaper on the ROMY gala: „Best TV-Documentary: "Miracle of Healing“: It is not an easy topic, which Kurt Langbein tackles in his "Kreuz&Quer" documentary "Wunder Heilung" (Miracle of Healing). Especially since he is a patient himself – Langbein was diagnosed with cancer. And in this impressive film he looks for the factors, which can mobilize the human immune system and could therefore even cure cancer."
