What happens when we cease to be? Is it possible to make peace with our own decease? And who are the people who are confronted with death on the daily? In "Mr. Schuh and Death" Franz Schuh and Florian Gebauer try to answer these questions. The film leads Franz Schuh to the mummies in the St. Michael's crypt, to the Viennese institute of anatomy, where medicine students from all over the world practice on fresh bodies and on cemeteries, where people pursue their professions – from funeral singers and funeral officiants to funeral cosmetologists.

The film searches for the pressing answers, which death raises. "Is it possible to make peace with one's own decease? Yes, we can accept death, we can tolerate it and even look for it – but to make peace, to become one with death seems incompatible with our human existence", says Franz Schuh.
