As one of the most powerful climate phenomena, the Monsoon influences many tropical and subtropical areas – and determines world climate. More than sixty percent of the world's population lives in such a region. In India and Bangladesh, the Monsoon decides whether the coming year will be good or bad. In the US, more and more meteorological studies show, that extreme weather conditions in California, Texas and Mexico are results of the Monsoon.

The Monsoon's consequences are not only shown in images of destruction but also in the unique beauty of the tropical world. The documentary shows the people, whose lives are determined by these enormous storms.
