According to a recent study by Statistik Austria there are around 490,000 people considered "working poor" in Austria – meaning they have only 1,066 € per month at their disposal, despite having a job. The number of "working poor" is increasing; they cannot afford vacations, they do not know how to muster the money for rent and heating costs and are in arrears with payments.
Most of them work full time, the majority of them are women – how is this possible? Bert Ehgartner attempts to answer this question, unveils scandalous social wrongs and looks for alternatives and solutions.
