Brenna tuat's schon lang“ (It's been burning for a while) is a film about the inner and outer journey of musician and singer Hubert von Goisern. In the course of the 25 years (and counting) of his career, he has always seen the music from his home as inspiration and foundation for all his creative work, which cannot easily be ascribed to a certain genre.

What drives this artist to continually reinvent himself? How can one tell the story of his unique artistic development – at least up to a certain point? These questions are the starting point for Marcus H. Rosenmüller's overview of Goisern's thrilling and singular artist's life.

The documentary gets unusually close to Goisern as a person but also leaves room for critical perspectives. The film unites home land and foreign land as well as then and now.
