The sweet truth: every citizen consumes about 35 kg of sugar a year. Alarming numbers, because the World Health Organization WHO considers a maximum of half of that as justifiable, ideally even a quarter. The bitter consequence:
about 40 percent of adults are overweight, the number of those who are considered obese increases.
Industrially processed foods - so-called "convenience food" - are now regularly consumed by more than 50% of the population. It is a market that is growing steadily. The industry is constantly inventing new products. What connects most of them is a lack of fiber and nutrients, too much salt, trans fatty acids, emulsifiers, additives and - a lot of hidden sugar.
Leaving the responsibility only to the consumers can not be the solution. A film by Andrea Eder.
